I purchased this unit, along with several other Android tablets and this was the first one to arrive. The initial inspection was positive, solid build and light weight unit. The e-reader is also good (and freely available on many devices outside this one) and music playback is good- built in speakers aren’t bad. Display is good (resistive touch screen isn’t).That is where most of the positives stop.

    The bad:
    1. Very slow, the unit is not very responsive and the on-screen keyboard is pretty slow as well. This makes for a frustrating typing experience. Since they are using a resistive display it takes quite a bit more pressure to get the unit to recognize what you are touching and causes mis-fires due to the amount of pressure you have to place on the screen. The resistive display also precludes any chance of there being any multitouch support on this device.

    2. Video playback is horrible. Video playback is the worst, very slow no matter what format.

    3. No flash support. As most know, flash support is hard to find in any non-windows tablet right now and this really limits the device. For a “webstation” many sites were off limits due to rendering issues with flash or the pages in general.

    4. Android 1.5 / store. Most devices currently shipping use Android 1.5 which isn’t the best iteration of the software. Rather than proposing a software update at some time, you will need to purchase a new unit with 2.x on it when they are available. 1.5 is also buggy and lacks application support. The Camangi Web Store is sparse, the only benefit is you can install 3rd party apps via the APK installer, but due to the version of Android and screen resolution- some just won’t work and you also have to go hunting for APK’s to load.. If they had at least updated to 1.6 and allowed access to the Android Market, the device would be far more usable.

As one of the first entries into the Android tablet market, it’s a valid attempt. Think of this as a digital picture frame on steroids. If you aren’t expecting much you won’t be disappointed. I was buying this just to play around with but found the flaws above to make it a frustrating experience. Keep an eye on these guys though, they could come out with some promising devices when they aren’t rushing something to market.

I always try to think of one positive thing to say about a product. In this case, there really isn’t anything. The Camangi Webstation is slow and clunky–especially noticeable when playing videos. Very unstable. Several times it would lock up and require a reset button to get it to come alive. Even though the device has 2 USB ports on it, you have to use their proprietary 5V charger to charge it. The touch screen is very finger-unfriendly and even Camangi’s tech support said that they designed it for a stylus. No bluetooth which surprised me. No access to the Android Market and Camangi’s “app market” is extremely limited. No reasonable options for PDF reader so it isn’t even really an expensive eBook reader.

This thing is going back to Amazon in tomorrow’s UPS!

I purchased this item and I’m enjoying it. It is slim and light and very easy to carry. It may not have as many applications like iPad. But you can’t complain with this price and weight. It is quite convenient to use it for business meeting.Webstation has anything you need.A notepad, internet browser and even twitter!! And the thing I like the most is it’s eBook feature. The colorful display is comfortable to read books or comics, especially for night read before bed. You can download applications online or on their Camangi Market. I recently found a Super Nintendo emulator application. It is much fun to play Nintendo games than the few games they have on the Camangi Market.lol They really need to get more applications on their market. The other thing I don’t like about it is it’s Android 1.5 It’ll be way better if it is Android 2.0

If you are looking for something that can replace your laptop, this is not it. But if you are just looking for a simple tablet for internet browsing and eBook function, this is definitely the one.
